How to Split PDF into Single Pages

Do you need just the odd page or so from a large PDF file? Maybe you received a document with an attachment that you then just need one or several pages from it. If that is the case, you can split any PDF file and save single pages- easy and fast- and still have the original intact.

There are various reasons why you might want to separate PDF documents into pages, and the Split PDF tool provides the mechanism to do just that.

While the exact steps you take might slightly differ from one tool or app to the other, the technology that powers the process is quite similar- whether it's a proprietary app or downloaded software.

Again, even if you haven't split PDF documents before, the step by step process is very much the same across the board.

In this article, we show you how to go about splitting PDFs into single pages.

Steps to splitting PDF into single-page documents

To split a PDF file into new single-page documents, follow these steps:

Create PDF.co account

PDF.co offers a cool PDF file splitter that you can access online, which you can find here.

Simply create an account, add some credits and click on "Manual Tools" and then scroll down to PDF Tools>Split PDF.

Upload file

On the next page that opens, upload the PDF file you want to split. Simple "Choose File" to add a PDF document stored on local storage (your computer). If you have the file on Dropbox, click on "From Dropbox" or alternatively, click on "From URL" to add a PDF file from a live URL.

Select pages to split

Once you have selected how you wish to upload the file you want to split, click on the "Proceed" button.  A thumbnail display of the PDF file will appear next with each page separate. Select the pages you want to split from the main document based on what you want- images, page numbers, page content, and so on.

After you specify how you want to split the file, click on the "split PDF" button to complete the process. The app will process the PDF document and return single-page PDF files.

Download/Save the file

You can either download the new single-page PDF files or save them on the cloud.

There you are! You have successfully split the PDF document into new single-page files.
